NEW YORK -- New York Jets linebacker Demario Davis and Denver Broncos nose tackle Sylvester Williams each have been fined $8,681 by the NFL for infractions during last week's games.

Davis was docked for unnecessary roughness in the Jets' game against Philadelphia when he tackled Darren Sproles, wrapping up the Eagles running back and slamming him into the ground.

The league said Friday that Williams was fined for roughing the passer, hitting Detroit's Matthew Stafford while the Lions QB was sliding on Sept. 27.

His is the third fine against a member of Denver's top-ranked defense in two weeks. Linebacker DeMarcus Ware (roughing the passer) and defensive lineman Malik Jackson (late hit) were fined for infractions in their game against Kansas City on Sept. 17.
