That was an exciting coin flip.
As the Eagles’ and Panthers’ captains met at midfield, Panthers safety Eric Reid and Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins exchanged words and Reid had to be removed from the field.
Then, Reid was held back by teammates as he was pulled to his own sideline. Once he got on his own sidelines, he had words with former Eagles receiver Torrey Smith and the two shoved each other.
Reid and Jenkins have a history dating back to last season, when Reid left the Player Coalition, the group Jenkins has been leading.
Reid had more words for Jenkins after the first drive of the game. He shouted them toward the Eagles’ sideline.
