Nelson Agholor doesn't believe left leg injury is serious

Eagles wideout Nelson Agholor said he will have an MRI on his injured left leg Monday after leaving Sunday’s 39-17 win over the Saints early (see Instant Replay).

Agholor said the lower-leg injury isn’t to his ankle, but instead is “muscle related.” After leaving the game, trainers tried to loosen up his leg muscles but they remained tight.

Although there’s no diagnosis, the first-round pick doesn’t think the injury is severe. He said he wanted to come back in Sunday’s game but team doctors held him out.

Agholor said he hopes to be able to practice this week.

“That’s the game plan,” he said. “I plan to prepare for all of that. I can’t control what happens. I’ll have an MRI (Monday) so we’ll figure it out. Other than that, my mindset is to practice, recover and get myself ready to play.”

After the injury, Agholor went to the sideline, where his lower leg and ankle were taped. He went into the locker room early before half and didn’t play another snap.

He finished the game with one catch for five yards (see 10 observations).

“I’m happy we got a win, first off,” he said, “and now my mind is on recovery.”
