NFL Draft 2020: Bill Belichick dog joke dominates draft's second night

Share

Bill Belichick has plenty of haters around the NFL, including right here in Philadelphia. Sometimes, though, you've gotta give it him, and on Friday night Belichick managed to put a smile on fans' faces.

The Patriots selected safety Kyle Dugger with the No. 37 pick, but the highlight of the night came before NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced the pick.

With the Patriots on the clock, Belichick walked into his living room, fed his adorable husky a treat, smiled, and then left the room:

By itself, that is a fantastic (and kind of adorable?) clip of Belichick, who isn't exactly known for moments of humanity.

But ESPN putting its Belichick title graphic up on the screen, with just a dog in Belichick's seat, makes it look like the Patriots' head coach is a pup.

And as you might imagine, the internet had some fun:

I can't stop laughing at the picture, or the jokes.

It might hurt to admit it, but Belichick did something good. More of this and less cheating please, Bill.
