NFL rumors: Tracking Eagles' 2020 schedule leaks before the official announcement

Share

The full Eagles schedule for 2020 won’t be released until 7:30 tonight but that doesn’t mean we won’t find out some information before that.

And forget about the idea that the Eagles would start with their AFC schedule. That isn’t happening.

According to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay, the Eagles will open the 2020 season on the road against the Redskins.

This is the third time in the last four years that the Eagles will begin their season against the Redskins. In 2017, the game was in Washington and last year it was in Philly.

The Eagles haven’t lost to Washington since 2016. They have won the last six meetings between the two teams.

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Eagles will play in Green Bay on Dec. 6. This is the latest in any season the Eagles have faced the Packers at Lambeau Field. Back in 1998, they played in Green Bay on Nov. 29.

According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Malcolm Jenkins and the Saints will be in Philadelphia in Week 14.

On Thursday night, longtime NFL reporter John Clayton said the league was going to start off the season with inter-conference games in case the season needed to be shortened. That would have meant the Eagles’ playing their AFC North opponents first. That obviously isn’t happening.

As a reminder, here are the Eagles’ 2020 opponents:

Home: Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Ravens, Bengals, Rams, Saints, Seahawks

Road: Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Cardinals, Browns, Packers, Steelers, 49ers

And the updated schedule as we go:

Week 1 — at WAS on Sept. 13
Week 13 — at GB on Dec. 6
Week 14 — vs. NOR on Dec. 13
