2021 NFL Draft position rankings, Eagles' mock draft roundup

Share

With the 2021 NFL Draft just days away, teams are starting to solidify which positions are most important to them.

There could be a historic run at quarterback with the first five picks in the NFL Draft order given the amount of excitement around Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance and Mac Jones.

Will Lawrence (Jags) and Wilson (Jets) turn around their respective franchises? Will Jones or Fields be paired with Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco?

Of course, it’s not all about signal callers. Each team enters NFL Draft week with its own set of needs.

Good thing we have all of your NFL Draft needs covered -- from this year’s No. 8-ranked quarterback (Jamie Newman) to the top-rated defensive tackle (Christian Barmore) -- for when your team is on the clock and you need to know more about the best players available on the board.

Who are the best players available in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Here’s a breakdown of the top 10 players at the following offensive positions:

QUARTERBACK | RUNNING BACK | WIDE RECEIVER | TIGHT END

Here’s a breakdown of the top 10 guys at each defensive position:

CORNERBACK | LINEBACKER | DEFENSIVE LINE

Who are the Eagles projected to take in the latest NFL Mock Draft?

Did Philadelphia’s brass make the right decision trading out of the top 10 this year? That’s a question to be answered another day. For now, it seems the Eagles are content with nabbing one of the draft’s top cornerbacks or crossing their fingers that either Ja’Marr Chase, DeVonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle falls to them.

In Dave Zangaro's final mock draft of the first round, the Eagles finally address their secondary and select Alabama's Patrick Surtain II at No. 12, while Shamus Clancy projects that the Eagles have their eye on Kyle Pitts and would execute another trade to move up and snag him.

Smith had been the betting favorite for the Eagles' first round pick, but PointsBet now has Jaycee Horn as the most likely selection.
