Add Marty Mornhinweg to the list of Eagles offensive coaches who won’t be returning in 2021.
On Wednesday, we learned that senior offensive assistant Rich Scangarello would not be returning to the Eagles for a second season, and on Thursday morning, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Mornhinweg’s second stint with the team has ended as well.
A league source confirmed both reports.

Both were here on one-year contracts and the team is letting their contracts expire.
Mornhinweg, 58, held the title senior offensive assistant this past year.
We’ll see what happens next, but this now qualifies as at least the start of an overhaul of the offensive coaching staff, which seemed bloated and with ill-defined roles this past year with several newcomers and no offensive coordinator.
The Eagles finished the season 4-11-1, averaging 19.1 offensive points and 335 yards per game. They ranked 26th in the NFL in points scored and 24th in yards per game, their lowest scoring ranking since 2012 and their lowest yardage ranking since 1999.

Mornhinweg, 58, also spent 2003 through 2012 with the Eagles under Andy Reid, including the last seven years as offensive coordinator.
He went on to serve as the Jets’ offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014 under Rex Ryan and then was reunited with Ravens head coach John Harbaugh as quarterbacks coach from 2015 through 2016 and offensive coordinator from 2016 through 2018.
Remaining offensive coaches on the staff include assistant head coach and running backs coach Duce Staley, who’s been with the team since 2011; offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Press Taylor and tight ends coach Justin Peelle, who all came in under Chip Kelly in 2013; and passing game analyst Andrew Breiner, who just completed his first season here.
Four assistant position coaches also remain: Mike Bartrum (tight ends), Matthew Harper (wide receivers), Roy Istgvan (offensive line) and T.J. Paganetti (running backs).
