The Eagles have interviewed Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady for their head coaching position, a league source confirmed to NBC Sports Philadelphia. NFL Network first reported the interview.
Brady, 31, is one of the hottest names out there right now.
Jeff Lurie always talks about finding innovative offensive minds and Brady certainly fits that bill. While he’s a young coach, Brady is considered a fast riser in the coaching world.

Why did Matt Rhule hire Brady as his offensive coordinator last offseason?
“The reason why I wanted to hire Joe was at LSU, he ran a version of the Saints’ system,” Rhule said, via the Panthers' website. “As a college coach, I studied NFL tape all the time. Obviously, with them being in the NFC South, I have so much respect for Sean Payton, their system, their ability to consistently execute and play at the highest of levels.
“And so you see Joe with his own take put on something that’s really strong fundamentally and sound fundamentally.”
Before his one season with the Panthers under Rhule, Brady was the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at LSU in 2019, when he was credited for helping Joe Burrow become the No. 1 overall pick.
In 2019, Brady won the Broyles Award as college football’s top assistant coach.
Before that, Brady worked as an offensive assistant under Payton in New Orleans from 2017-18. Brady began his coaching career at William & Mary (where he played receiver) as a linebackers coach in 2013-14 and was a graduate assistant at Penn State from 2015-16.
Born on Sept. 23, 1989, if Brady gets hired this offseason as a head coach, he’ll be the second-youngest head coach in NFL history behind Sean McVay, who was still 30 when the Rams hired him in 2017. The youngest Eagles head coach in history was Jim Trimble, who was 34 back in 1952.
