We don’t know what Nick Sirianni’s staff will look like in Philly, but we know it won’t include Justin Peelle.
The longtime Eagles’ tight ends coach is heading to Atlanta to be a part of Arthur Smith’s new coaching staff, the Falcons announced on Saturday. Peelle will also coach tight ends in Atlanta.
Peelle, 41, has been with the Eagles since 2013. The former NFL tight end joined Chip Kelly’s staff as the assistant tight ends coach and took over as the full-time position coach in 2015. And when Doug Pederson arrived in Philadelphia in 2016, Peelle was kept on. So in total, he spent eight seasons with the Eagles.

During his time in Philly, Peelle’s players obviously had a lot of success. He coached the last few years of Brent Celek’s career and arrived in Philly with Zach Ertz in 2013. He has also been a huge part of Dallas Goedert’s success early in his career.
According to the press release from the Falcons, the Eagles’ tight ends have had the most receptions (417) and yards (4,388) than any other team’s tight ends in the last three seasons.
The Eagles in 2020 played 35% percent of their offensive snaps in 12 personnel (two tight ends), which was tied for the highest percentage in the NFL, according to Sharp Football. Sirianni also likes 12 personnel, so the next tight ends coach will have an important role.
The Eagles haven’t even announced the Sirianni hire yet, but you can guarantee the process to put together his coaching staff is already underway.
