Lions safety Tracy Walker was fined $11,139 for unnecessary roughness against the Eagles last Sunday.
In the third quarter, Walker hit Jalen Hurts late and then got into a scuffle, even throwing a punch at receiver Zach Pascal. Walker was ejected from the game.
Meanwhile, Lions LB Alex Anzalone was not fined for his late hit on Hurts. Anzalone was also flagged for unnecessary roughness in the game.

SIGN UP HERE While Hurts took a few hits in the opener — just two that were flagged — head coach Nick Sirianni actually said he thought the officials did a nice job last Sunday.
There were a few that were near the line that weren’t called.
“That is within the rules of the game, and I have to remind myself — the reason I'm so educated in that rule is one, it's my job to be, but also, is because I have to educate myself so I don't fly off the handle that he got hit,” Sirianni said on Monday.
“That doesn't always mean I'm perfect with that because I know I do. That is the way the rule writes, and I know the referees have a really hard job, and I think they did a good job of officiating that. To be honest, I think they did a really good job of officiating that yesterday.”

Perhaps some strategic lobbying early in that game led to those two huge unnecessary roughness calls later in the game.
It’ll be a fine line all year with Hurts. On one hand, his running ability makes him special but the Eagles obviously want to limit the amount of hits he takes. The good news is that Hurts is generally pretty good at avoiding big shots.
