There was a villainous bee in South Philadelphia on Friday.
As the Eagles began their final practice of the week before Sunday’s regular season opener, something looked off about A.J. Brown. He was late to stretch and even when he joined his teammates, he wasn’t really participating.
Now we know why. Brown explained in a since-deleted couple of tweets:
With our All Access Daily newsletter, stay in the game with the latest updates on your beloved Philadelphia sports teams!

Aside from a bee sting, the Eagles are pretty healthy going into their Week 1 game in Detroit. All the players on the injury report to start the week were back at practice Friday: Javon Hargrave (toe), Derek Barnett (ribs), Miles Sanders (hamstring) and Josiah Scott (hamstring).
Andre Dillard is on IR, but even he was out on the field Friday during stretching. He had a cast/wrap on his left arm after a surgery to repair a forearm fracture. He’s out at least four weeks, but will be available at some point this season.
The Lions are dealing with a few more injuries than the Eagles, who should be very healthy on Sunday as long as that bee buzzes off.
