We’ve all wanted to give our former boss the finger, right?
But how many of us have actually done it?
And then been welcomed back with open arms?
That’s exactly what just happened.
Remember the Eagles horrible 48-7 loss to the Saints at the SuperDome in 2018? If you don’t, here’s my 10 Observations from that day. I’m sure you’ll really enjoy reading them.
In any case, the Saints were already up 38-7 early in the fourth quarter when Saints coach Sean Payton elected to go for it on 4th and 7 from the Eagles’ 37-yard-line.
Drew Brees threw his fourth touchdown of the game, a 37-yarder to Alvin Kamara, who roasted Jenkins on the play.

That’s when Jenkins was seen on camera giving his former head coach the finger.
"I'm a competitor,” Jenkins told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark at the Superdome after the game. “I love Sean to death. I know what type of guy and coach he is. That was more so personal between me and him. We talked after the game. It's all good. I know Sean. They're going to go for it. I was more so upset that it was on me. I got a lot of respect for what they're doing, especially Sean."
Payton after the game said letting Jenkins leave through free agency was the biggest mistake the Saints had made during his years in New Orleans.
“Malcolm, I think the world of him, he’s a tremendous player,” Payton said. “I hate that he got out of here. That was probably as big a mistake as we’ve made here in 13 years, and he’s made up of all the right things and he’s a tremendous competitor.”
Jenkins played for Payton from 2009 through 2013 before signing with the Eagles. Payton, who was Ray Rhodes’ quarterbacks coach with the Eagles in 1997 and 1998, has been with the Saints since 2006.
On Tuesday, the Eagles announced they were letting Jenkins go after six years and three Pro Bowls. And on Wednesday, we learned that Jenkins is heading back to New Orleans to play for … who else … Sean Payton.
So much for hard feelings.
