Report: If Eagles can trade Barkley, good chance they'll sign Tebow

Is there still a chance that Tim Tebow could latch on with the Eagles?

After working out at the NovaCare Complex on Monday, Tebow left Philadelphia without a contract (see story). But it appears the team still has interest in the former Jets and Broncos quarterback.

According to Dianna Russini of NBC4 in Washington, D.C., there's an "80 percent chance" the Eagles will sign Tebow if they can trade third-string QB Matt Barkley.

Barkley, who was selected by the Eagles in the fourth round (98th overall) in the 2013 NFL draft, is currently behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez on the depth chart. He's appeared in four career NFL games, completing 30 of 50 passes for 300 yards, but has zero touchdown passes and four interceptions.

Tebow hasn't played in an NFL game since 2012. In 35 career games between the Broncos and Jets, the 27-year-old has a QB rating of 75.3.
