Former Eagles running back Chris Polk has found a new home.
Polk on Tuesday signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, a league source confirmed to CSNPhilly.com Eagles Insider Geoff Mosher. The deal has a base salary of $660,000 and Polk can earn a max of $100,000 in per-game, 46-man roster bonuses.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle first reported the news.
Four days ago, the Eagles rescinded their one-year tender to Polk, which allowed the 25-year-old to hit the free-agent market (see story).
Polk never signed the Eagles' $1.542 million tender.
In three seasons in Philadelphia, Polk scored eight total touchdowns on just 76 touches. He rushed for four TDs on 44 carries and returned a kickoff 102 yards for another score in 2014.
In the offseason, the Eagles signed Pro Bowl halfbacks DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews after trading LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills. The additions, coupled with returning veteran Darren Sproles, pushed Polk toward the bottom of the team's depth chart.

Polk battled several injuries during his three-year tenure with the Birds. He missed nine games in his rookie season because of a toe injury, had his shoulder surgically repaired after his second season and was sidelined almost all of training camp and missed two games with hamstring injuries last season.
