To borrow words from Jason Kelce’s epic speech on the steps of the art museum, “IT’S THE WHOLE TEAM!!!”
That’s why the Eagles are 2-3. That’s why they look like a shell of the team that won the Super Bowl eight months ago.
If you’re trying to pin the blame on just a couple guys, good luck. The Eagles are off to a tremendously disappointing season and IT’S THE WHOLE TEAM!

“Doug Pederson. Doug Pederson doesn’t have the magic. He used to push all the right buttons and now the Eagles are unprepared and it’s his fault. And maybe he’s even starting to lose the team! But Mike Lombardi is still a clown. Jim Schwartz is too stubborn; he won’t change his scheme to fit his players. Mike Groh ain’t no Frank Reich. Press Taylor ain’t no John DeFilippo.
“Jason Peters really is too old. His quad is made of papier-mâché. But he’s still better than Big V, who somehow suffered the worst from a Super Bowl hangover. Stefen Wisniewski wasn’t good enough to keep his job over Isaac Seumalo, who looks like he’s playing on roller skates. Lane Johnson looks nothing like the All-Pro he was last year. Brandon Brooks and Lane aren’t communicating well. Jason Kelce is hurt and won’t admit it. The whole O-line is out of whack.
“Carson Wentz holds the ball too long. Jay Ajayi’s career is in jeopardy. Wendell Smallwood can’t block. Corey Clement and Darren Sproles can’t stay healthy. Josh Adams doesn’t deserve a roster spot.
NFL
“Mike Wallace has a fragile fibula. Alshon Jeffery is too inconsistent. Nelson Agholor has reverted back to 2016; maybe last year was a fluke. Zach Ertz can’t get in the end zone. Jordan Matthews drops too many passes.
“Brandon Graham doesn’t look the same. Michael Bennett isn’t fitting in. Corey Graham is too old. Avonte Maddox isn’t a safety. Ronald Darby can’t tackle or he won't tackle. Tim Jernigan might not play this year. Jordan Hicks and Nigel Bradham aren’t making plays. Haloti Ngata is wayyy over the hill. Jalen Mills gets burnt by everyone. IT’S THE WHOLE TEAM!
“When a restaurant messes up my order I’m f—— pissed off! Imagine what I’m thinking watching a team full of talent throw away a season!”
OK, all that said, it’s still early and the NFC East stinks. So there’s still plenty of time for the Eagles to turn it around. Maybe they do. Hey, maybe Kelce can take some of this and save it for his speech this February after the Eagles rebound and repeat as Super Bowl champs.
But for now, the Eagles are a mess. And it’s the whole team.
