Best of NHL: Rick Nash scores 1st goal since Dec. 30 in Rangers' win

NEW YORK -- Rick Nash scored his first goal since returning from a leg injury and Henrik Lundqvist made 25 saves in leading the New York Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday night.

Viktor Stalberg, Mats Zuccarello and Tanner Glass also scored for the Rangers, who moved two points ahead of idle Pittsburgh for second place in the Metropolitan Division. New York has nine games left in the regular season, one more than the Penguins, who have won six in a row.

Vincent Trocheck and Jiri Hudler scored for the Panthers, who lost their second straight. The Atlantic Division leaders are two points in front of Tampa Bay with nine games to go, one fewer than the Lightning have left.

Al Montoya stopped 28 shots for Florida, which had a goal waved off by the officials early in the third period (see full recap).

Johansen lifts Predators over Kings
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Ryan Johansen had a goal and two assists to lead the Nashville Predators to a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.

James Neal added a goal and an assist for the Predators, winners in three of their last four. Mike Fisher, Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi also scored.

Tanner Pearson had a goal and an assist, and Alec Martinez also scored for the Kings, who had their four-game winning streak snapped.

Neal scored the game's first goal at 7:37 of the second period.

In the left circle inside the Los Angeles zone, Johansen won a faceoff back to Neal at the top of the circle, where he immediately fired a shot low to the far side that just slid past the outstretched left leg of Kings goalie Jonathan Quick (see full recap).

Maple Leafs ride Nylander to victory
TORONTO -- William Nylander had a goal and two assists and the Toronto Maple Leafs earned a 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Monday night.

It was the first three-point game of his NHL career. The performance came two days after the 19-year-old registered his first career multi-point effort in a win over Buffalo.

Nylander has two goals and five points in his past two games.

P.A. Parenteau, Zach Hyman, Colin Greening and Josh Leivo also scored for the Leafs, who have won four of their past five games and five of their past seven. Matt Stajan and Joe Colborne scored for Calgary.

Toronto's Jonathan Bernier made 23 saves to top Jonas Hiller, who gave up three goals on 24 shots (see full recap).
