Flyers' Nolan Patrick scores nasty between-the-legs goal

If you've been waiting for a Nolan Patrick breakout game, you got it Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

And the kid did it in style, too.

After going 24 straight games without a goal and just two points, Patrick lit the lamp twice Monday and had three points through two periods of action against the Wild.

His second goal was a beauty as he showed just how skilled he is with his hands in the video above.

Yes, that's Patrick going through the legs from a nasty angle.

"I practiced that in the summer when I was goofing around on the ice and also at the end of skates," Patrick said at second intermission. "It's something you really don't get a chance to do much in games but it kind of worked out well for me there."

It's not the first time we've seen the 2017 second overall pick go between his legs. He did it twice last season with a pair of pretty assists — one to Dale Weise and the other to Jakub Voracek.

"He's a pretty unique player, not a lot of guys like him," Travis Konecny said last May. "Big body, really good hands and pretty reliable."

The Flyers desperately need Patrick to get going. He hasn't provided the offensive production many had hoped for in his second NHL season. Patrick entered Monday with 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 38 games. As a result, the Flyers have lacked center depth and secondary scoring.

But it's also important to remember Patrick is only 20 years old.

Going through the legs is a nice reminder of the potential.
