VOORHEES, N.J. — Travis Konecny won't forget his 23rd birthday.
He has enjoyed his first All-Star season in helping spearhead the Flyers' 2019-20 resurgence. Through 66 games, he has already recorded personal highs in assists (37) and points (61), while he needs only one more goal to set a new benchmark of 25.
There has been plenty to celebrate on the ice.
And teammates made his birthday celebration special following practice Wednesday at Flyers Skate Zone.
They directed Konecny to lead post-practice stretches ... and be the object for target practice.
Scott Laughton appeared to spark the birthday shots. Konecny, never one to be pushed around, fired back at his buds.
Any birthday gift for Konecny?
NHL
“No, nothing," Kevin Hayes said. "Dinner tonight.”
Following practice, the Flyers were off to Tampa Bay ahead of their matchup Thursday night with the Lightning.
Konecny will make sure everyone eats up.
