Former Flyers goalie Ray Emery on Saturday agreed to join the Ontario Reign on a professional tryout.

Ontario is the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.

Emery, a native of Hamilton, Ontario, spent the past two seasons serving as the backup to starter Steve Mason with the Flyers. He went 10-11-7 with a 3.06 goals-against average and .894 save percentage in 31 appearances last season.

The Flyers elected to not re-sign Emery this past summer when the veteran's contract expired. Instead, the team inked backup Michal Neuvirth to a two-year deal on July 1.

Emery latched on with the Tampa Bay Lightning in September and spent a good portion of training camp with the club. However, he was released from his professional tryout on Sept. 27 after Tampa claimed fellow netminder Kevin Poulin off of waivers from the New York Islanders.

The 33-year-old Emery has played in 287 NHL games between the Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks and two stints with the Flyers.

Over his 13-year NHL career, Emery, a Stanley Cup winner with the Blackhawks in 2013, has posted a 248-155-46 record with a .913 save percentage and 2.58 GAA.

Emery also has plenty of experience in the AHL. In 162 minor-league games, he's gone 81-61-18 with .920 save percentage and 2.50 GAA.
