Jakub Voracek may not be making upwards of $8 million a year yet, but the Flyers' forward certainly has enough money to own trolls on Twitter.
One Penguins fan decided to rub in the wound of Pittsburgh's two-point Sunday by pointing out that Penguins 39-year-old center Matt Cullen has more goals this season than Voracek. But when the Pens fan erroneously said that Voracek was making $8.25 million per season, Voracek was patrolling Twitter and wasn't going to let it fly — he's actually makes $4.25 million this season, as his eight-year, $66 million contract extension doesn't kick in until next year.
Even after his go-ahead goal against the Rangers, Cullen has just 22 points to Voracek's 48 in eight fewer games. Cullen also hasn't had more points than Voracek in a season since 2008-09, when Voracek was a 19-year-old rookie with the Blue Jackets.
All of this comes on the heels of Voracek lashing out at a fan while misunderstanding sarcasm last week.
What is the lesson here? The Flyers' forward clearly has a Twitter search out for his own name and sees when you tweet about it.
