A day after having his contract bought out by the Flyers, Oskar Lindblom signed a two-year deal with the Sharks.
The contract has a $2.5 million average annual value, according to a report by The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun.
"Oskar is a proven forward who can provide offensive upside in the middle of our lineup," San Jose general manager Mike Grier said in a statement released by the team. "He has overcome significant obstacles in his young career and his strength and desire to play hockey is immeasurable. We are happy to have him join our organization."

The Flyers freed up $3.33 million in cap space with buying out the final year of Lindblom's three-year, $9 million deal. General manager Chuck Fletcher called the decision "very difficult."
The Swedish winger was beloved in Philadelphia by the organization, fan base and his teammates.
Lindblom, who turns 26 years old next month, had his life and career rocked in December 2019, when he was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that occurs in bones or in the soft tissue around the bones.

He missed the remainder of the 2019-20 regular season as he fought for his life. After completing his radiation treatments in July 2020, he astoundingly returned to the Flyers' lineup for two games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs that September.
Lindblom played 129 games for the Flyers over the next two seasons, recording 20 goals and 20 assists. He won the 2020-21 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, an award given annually to the NHL player "who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey."
"I didn't know what to expect, if I ever could play again from the start," Lindblom said in May 2021. "Just to play on the highest level in the world and I could still manage to do that, it's making me proud just to think about it."
