In addition to losing Connor McClennon's rights on Wednesday, the Flyers also did not sign Marcus Westfalt.
As a result, the 2018 seventh-round pick will become a draft-related unrestricted free agent.
Westfalt, a 22-year-old forward, was drafted by the Flyers' previous regime of Ron Hextall and Chris Pryor. Through 51 games this season, the Swedish native recorded 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists), a plus-11 mark and 18:55 minutes per game for Vasterviks in HockeyAllsvenskan, a pro league that is a tier below the SHL.

When he was drafted, Westfalt played for the same Swedish clubs as Oskar Lindblom.
McClennon was selected by the Flyers' current regime of Chuck Fletcher and Brent Flahr in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. He's a soon-to-be 20-year-old right winger who scored 43 goals in 62 games for the WHL's Winnipeg ICE. More on the Flyers' decision here.
On Wednesday, the Flyers also extended bona fide offers to 2021 draft picks Ethan Samson and Owen McLaughlin. Bona fide offers add another year to the club's time frame of negotiating rights with a drafted prospect.
Samson, a sixth-round selection, has intriguing upside as a defenseman out of the WHL. The 6-foot-3, 183-pounder doesn't turn 19 years old until August and is coming off of a 43-point season (15 goals, 28 assists) for Prince George.
McLaughlin, a seventh-round pick, is a local product from Spring City, Pennsylvania, in Chester County. The 19-year-old center had 72 points (28 goals, 44 assists) in 62 games this season for the USHL's Sioux City Musketeers. He was originally committed to Penn State but will now play for North Dakota next season.
