The Flyers (23-40-11) visit Buffalo, New York on Saturday to open a home-and-home back-to-back set against the Sabres (27-38-11).

Let's get into the essentials for the game:

  • When: 7 p.m. ET with Flyers Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m. ET
  • Where: KeyBank Center
  • Broadcast: NBC Sports Philadelphia+
  • Live stream: NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports MyTeams app

• For a second straight game, the Flyers will be without Carter Hart (lower body), Cam Atkinson (lower body), Cam York (lower body), Rasmus Ristolainen (upper body) and Patrick Brown (upper body).

It sounds like there's a strong chance Hart will be shut down for the Flyers' final eight games of the season.

"We haven't ruled him out for the rest of the season, but I would say it's pretty unlikely right now [that he'll play] just in talking to him," Flyers interim head coach Mike Yeo said Friday. "But you never know."

Atkinson may be able to play Sunday when the Flyers host the Sabres.

Ristolainen is out indefinitely.

"Not really expecting him any time soon unless something changes here over the next week," Yeo said.

York is day to day.

Brown, as we learned Wednesday, is likely out for the rest of the season.

Nate Thompson, who missed the Flyers' 4-0 loss Wednesday to the Rangers because of a lower-body injury, will return to the lineup.

• The Flyers are on a three-game losing streak, a stretch in which they've been outscored 18-5.

The Sabres are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games, with three of those victories coming over the Hurricanes, Maple Leafs and Predators.

• Egor Zamula, a 22-year-old prospect, will get a look on the Flyers' top defensive pair alongside Ivan Provorov.

Zamula, a native of Russia, has looked up to his fellow countryman.

"When I signed a contract here with the Flyers, I told him right away it's my dream to play with you one time, maybe two times, maybe every time," Zamula said Friday. "Today, before practice, I was watching TV and I saw my name with Provy together. ... He told me he was going to help me to play better, teach me something and enjoy."
