Two 22-year-old goalies square off as Flyers' hunt of Bruins continues

After getting their first win over Boston this season, the Flyers (18-14-5) are back home Tuesday night to meet the Bruins (19-10-6) again.

Let's get into the essentials for the game:

  • When: 7 p.m. ET with The Warm Up at 6 p.m. ET and Flyers Pregame Live at 6:15 p.m. ET
  • Where: Wells Fargo Center
  • Broadcast: NBC Sports Philadelphia
  • Live stream: NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports MyTeams app

• Despite a disastrous March, the Flyers have pieced together a decent five-game stretch. The Flyers have earned at least a point in four of their last five games, a span in which they've gone 3-1-1 and have allowed three or fewer goals four times.

That's nothing to write home about, but considering the Flyers won consecutive games only once last month and allowed four or more goals 11 times, the Flyers' last five games have represented notable progress ahead of the April 12 trade deadline.

The Flyers opened this make-or-break week with a 3-2 OT win Monday night over the Bruins. The Flyers are trying to track down Boston in the East Division playoff race. They're within three points of the Bruins with 19 games remaining, while Boston has two games in hand. The Flyers finish their eight-game regular-season series against the Bruins with two home matchups this week: tonight and Saturday afternoon.

• Boston goalie Jeremy Swayman will be making his NHL debut against the Flyers. The Bruins are without Tuukka Rask (upper-body injury) and Jaroslav Halak (positive coronavirus test). Daniel Vladar, a 23-year-old rookie, made his fourth career start Monday night for Boston.

Swayman is 22 years old, the same age as Carter Hart. With the Bruins' AHL affiliate Providence this season, Swayman has gone 8-1-0 with a 1.89 goals-against average and .933 save percentage.

Hart is in net for the Flyers, coming off his best outing since late February.
