Philly fans share coolest, oldest tickets from their collections

We are now over a month without live sports and I recently started to think about all of the little things that I was missing.

There were some that were obvious — spending a ridiculous amount of money on concessions, hearing Lou Nolan announce that the Flyers are going on the “Peeeeecoooo Pooower Play,” enjoying the shenanigans of the Phanatic leading up to the start of a game and a lot more.

One of the first things that came to mind, though, were the physical tickets. I’ve been collecting my game tickets for just over a decade now (starting when I was about 12 years old). Tickets are their own pieces of memorabilia and whenever you look at them, you can think back to the game itself, who you spent it with, where you were and even most times, the outcomes.

I prompted Twitter to share some of their earliest Philly sports tickets in their collections — and to say I was impressed with the outcome would be an understatement.

The responses were overwhelmingly incredible — ranging from all of the major teams, different arenas and special memories that came with those games.

From some of the oldest …

To those treasured championship ones …

The craziest and coolest …

And the ones that hold the most nostalgia

It’s pretty clear that everyone loves keeping them for an abundance of reasons.

Does anyone else wish tickets never switched to digital or print-at-home? While you can collect those too, it definitely doesn’t have the same feel of classic tickets like these.
