Soul steamrolled by Arizona Rattlers, 80-63, in battle of top-seeded teams

The Arizona Rattlers came out on top in the battle of first-place teams, steamrolling the Soul, 80-63.

The American Conference-leading Soul fell to 9-3, while the National Conference Rattlers improved to 9-3 with just four weeks remaining in the regular season.

"This was not our best performance," head coach Clint Dolezel said. "We fell into a hole that we could not dig out of. We have time to fix our mistakes and prepare for the next matchup."

Despite racing out to an early 14-6 lead, the Soul were overtaken by the Rattlers in the second quarter. The Rattlers pushed their lead to as much as 19 points during that second quarter and never looked back.

Sould quarterback Dan Raudabaugh completed 28 of 43 passes for 372 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Soul topped the Rattlers in the first meeting between the teams, 65-58, in May at the Wells Fargo Center.

Next week, the Soul travel to Portland to face the Steel on Monday, June 27 at 8 p.m.
