No champagne to pop?
How about a sea of balloons?
St. Joe's won the Atlantic 10 Tournament title Sunday, defeating VCU handily, 87-74 (see game story), so it's no wonder why a VCU cheerleader would be furiously mad afterward.
After the Hawks trumped the Rams for the title, one VCU cheerleader got back at St. Joe's in the only way she knew how: stomping on every St. Joe's red and white balloon in sight.
It's fair after all: the Hawks have defeated the Rams in two of the last three A-10 championship games, bookending the Rams' sole A-10 Tournament title with two nationally televised defeats. St. Joe's two A-10 titles are essentially all that has separated VCU from a three-peat in the infancy of its Atlantic 10 membership. It doesn't help that St. Joe's physically dominated the Rams as well.
Luckily, VCU may have some of its own balloons when it returns to campus because the Rams are likely to make the NCAA Tournament too, albeit without the safety of the A-10's auto-bid.
Yet it is essential to point out how inefficient it is to pop balloons by stomping on them. Normally, if you're going to pop balloons, you would want to have something sharp in hand. But in light of how demonstrably frustrated with life the cheerleader appeared to be in the moment, it makes sense to stick with your shoes.
However, thanks to the Internet and smartphones, we have another example of the glorious "You Mad?" meme. Here's the hilariously sad video thanks to @MAllaire:
