Bryce Harper to participate in religious effort amid coronavirus outbreak

Share

Bryce and Kayla Harper did their part last week by donating $500,000 to help those feeling the effects of the coronavirus in Las Vegas and Philadelphia.

Early Friday morning, Bryce Harper is still thinking about those battling the the virus.

He announced on an Instagram Live video that he's taking part in a 24-hour fast on Friday with this church in a religious effort to halt the virus.

Fasting is commonly practiced for those who celebrate Good Friday.

Now many practices held on Good Friday, including Harper's, are doing so with the coronavirus in mind -- trying to halt it as quickly as possible.

The Phillies organization has also contributed to the coronavirus efforts when they established a $1 million fund to assist workers impacted by the postponement of Major League Baseball games last month.
