The Sixers' first chance to show their new-look team in real action is less than three months away.

On Thursday night, the league revealed its 2016-17 schedule. The Sixers kick off their regular season against Russell Westbrook and the Thunder at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m. The game will be on ESPN, the first of five nationally televised games in which the Sixers will play.

Eight of the Sixers’ first 10 games will be against playoff teams from last season, so Brett Brown’s young, revamped roster will be tested from the start.

After an eventful offseason in which the Sixers selected Ben Simmons No. 1 overall in June’s draft, signed Dario Saric in late July and took what they hope are the final steps in Joel Embiid's rehab, the Sixers have a lot to look forward to this season.

Here are a few things to know about the upcoming season:

• LeBron James and the defending champion Cavaliers come to Philly Nov. 5.

• The Sixers play Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and the star-studded Warriors Feb. 27 (home) and March 14 (away).

• The Sixers’ first divisional game is Nov. 28 on the road against the Raptors.

• The Sixers play the No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram and the Lakers Dec. 16 (home) and March 12 (away). The Sixers will get the first-round pick they acquired in the Michael Carter-Williams trade from the Lakers if it falls outside the top three picks in next June’s draft.

• Six of the Sixers’ first eight games are at home, and they have four road trips of at least four games.

• The Sixers play four straight home games before wrapping up the regular season in New York against the Knicks April 12.

• There are 17 back-to-back games on the Sixers’ schedule.

• The Sixers have one stretch of four games in five nights (the NBA's new maximum) with games vs. the Magic on Dec. 2, vs. the Celtics on Dec. 3, vs. the Nuggets on Dec. 5 and at the Grizzlies on Dec. 6.
