The Nittany Lions on Tuesday stayed at No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Penn State hopes it can vault into the top four to snag a spot in the playoff if it takes care of business against No. 6 Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
PSU is coming off a dominant 45-12 win over Michigan State on Saturday. Ohio State's double-overtime win over Michigan earlier that day and Penn State's victory, the team's eighth in a row, helped the Nittany Lions capture the Big Ten's East Division crown for a spot in the conference title game.
Undefeated Alabama stayed atop the CFP rankings and Ohio State remained at No. 2. Clemson and Washington eached moved up a spot to round out the playoff field.
Michigan dropped to No. 5 after its loss to rival OSU.
The final College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Sunday at noon.
