Aldridge: If Sixers Move Up High, It's Likely For Green

Share

I emailed the Inquirer's NBA expert, David Aldridge, to get his take only hours before the draft.  Of course, I asked him what he thought the Sixers and Billy King would do.

D.A., who is crazy busy on a day like today, thinks Billy is likely to stay put:

I suspect they'll have to stay at 12 (although moving up to 10 may be a possibility if someone good slips; I think the Kings may be willing to do something. If they do that they'll have their pick of Brandan Wright, Julian Wright or Al Thornton. Otherwise, they may have to take the best Wright available.  If they move up higher it's for Jeff Green. At the end of the day, I think it's Thornton.

I'm not sure Sixers fans are going to be thrilled with Thornton.  One of the things moving up could do, in my opinion, is create some fan excitement.  God knows, the Sixers need it.  Should be a fun night.

Thanks to David for sharing his knowledge.
