The righthander agreed to a minor-league deal with the Mets tonight,
the Daily News has learned. It's believed he can earn as much as $8
million to $9 million if he makes the team and reaches all of his
incentives.
What's next, trading for Adam Eaton? Throw the money out the window for now though; Garcia, 33, would likely have to make the rotation and pitch every fifth game for six months to get it. There's still a good chance the Mets will keep shopping for a starter, probably re-signing Oliver Perez or targeting Ben Sheets.
