After enduring lisfranc and ACL injuries and requiring surgery twice during the last 2 years, Cardinal O'Hara product Kevin Jones has been released by the Detroit Lions. Jones has decent stats through his first 4 years in the league, including 27 touchdowns in 49 games, but his injury history (and near future) have him looking for a new gig. RotoWorld says it's believed Jones won't be ready to start the 2008 season healthy, and it may be until 2009 before he's 100%.
Jones, who broke team, Catholic League, and PA state records at O'Hara, will surely catch on somewhere this off-season, but it will be as a backup until he can prove he's healthy again.
