Eagles earning plenty of believers with win streak

Wow, how the mood in this city has changed thanks to a five-game Eagles winning streak.

For the past six weeks on this website I've been promoting the Eagles' potential to win the division in a weekly segment with my colleague Danny Pommells.

Weeks ago, I thought the Eagles had a legitimate shot at winning the division over Dallas. Now they control their own destiny and, according to our Pick 'n Click poll question on Tuesday night asking how far the Eagles will go this season, many of you believe the team's potential is unlimited. By the time SportsNite aired, 33 percent of you had said the Eagles will win the Super Bowl.

I was stunned when I saw our poll numbers. I, along with 15 percent of the respondents, picked the Eagles to lose in the second round of the playoffs. It's great to see optimism in Philly, especially after preseason expectations were so low.

Chip Kelly has made all of us believers. Only eight percent voted in our poll that the Eagles will miss the playoffs. Three weeks to go in the regular season and this four-win team from a season ago has already doubled that mark and is presently the third-seeded team in the NFC.

It makes for great drama at the end of the season, something none of us expected. Many times, the most enjoyable seasons are the ones when teams come out of nowhere and shock everyone. No one seems to be shocked now.

Enjoy the ride because this season has the makings of something we all will remember for a long time.
