Haberstat: Sixers will welcome Disney as new home during restart

The Philadelphia 76ers put up historic home-road splits during the 2019-20 NBA season. While they were a sensational 29-2 at Wells Fargo Center, they went just 10-24 away from Philadelphia. Their home-away swing (a .641 win percentage disparity) was the highest of any team since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976.

This stark difference presents major implications for the Sixers in the NBA's restart, which is scheduled to begin July 30. With 22 teams convening at Walt Disney World in Orlando, there will be no "home-court advantage" for teams in the playoffs. As things stand, the Sixers are the No. 6 seed in the East, meaning they would take on the No. 3 Boston Celtics in the first round. Instead of having to potentially play four games in Boston, where the Sixers went 1-1 this season, the rivals would play a best-of-seven series at a neutral site.

The Sixers may not be able to dominate on their home court on the road to the Finals, but they can still take advantage at Disney World.
