Hope Jacobus
After her mom used every possible option to prevent an early delivery — including a seven-week stint of bedrest — Hope came into the world 15 weeks early.

She was an active child from the beginning, pulling at the tubes that helped keep her breathing.
The wonderful doctors and nurses keep watch on her, as did parents Amanda and Rob. Amanda was a cardio nurse when Hope was born at Abington Hospital and was so moved by the care provided by the staff that she become a NICU nurse so she could give other families the same level of care.
Now in fourth grade, Hope is doing well and a basketball fan. She recently had the opportunity to spend time with a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.
