Mini Mart Comes, Mini Mart Goes, Something About a Shark Person

Mini Mart is gone once again and the Phillies have brought in a guy who hit .178 for the Washington Nationals this season in Roger Bernadina. He'll fit right in in Philadelphia.

I guess the good part about the move is that he adds a solid bat... no wait, something about sharks.

That's about it.

He'll be the latest addition to the roster who, when at Citizens Bank Park in the coming weeks, the person you are sitting with will ask, "wait, who the heck is that guy playing for the Phillies?"

Sharkadina will compete with Casper Wells for playing time whatever who cares the Phillies.

From the team:

Bernadina, 29, batted .178 with two home runs and six RBI in 85 games with the Washington Nationals this year.  He made 14 starts in left field, 12 in right field and three in center field.  Last season, Bernadina, a left-handed hitter, batted .291 with a .372 on-base percentage in 129 games for Washington.

A native of Curacao, Bernadina was originally signed by the Montreal Expos in November of 2001 as an amateur free agent.  In 468 career games, he has hit .243 with 25 home runs, 107 RBI and 56 stolen bases and made 113 starts in center field, 88 in left field and 78 in right field.  At Citizens Bank Park, he is a career .309 hitter in 22 games.
