News @ 11… UPDATE

Its not even Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and YOUR Philadelphia Flyers are busy as beavers.  Today at 11 am, GM Paul Holmgren will announce a one year deal with goal-tending gamble and former Ottawa Senator, Ray Emery.  The press conference will be shown live on Comcast Sportsnet for all those interested... and jobless.  Now as far as Kid-Ray goes,  he is two years removed from going deep into the Stanley Cup Playoffs before losing in the Final to the (Mighty) Ducks o' Anaheim.  He is also a year removed from saving pucks shot by actual NHL players, after leaving North America to pursue a backstopping career in mutha-Russia.

You've heard about the moving violations and the fist fight altercations.  You've heard about the tattoos and PR boo-boos, but then again... he's only 27 and very atheletic.  Not since Hexy (and on a lesser scale, Snowy) have the Orange and Black iced such a volatile man behind the mask.  Speaking of masks, did you know that at one point, Emery had former heavyweight Mike Tyson painted on his?  It was short lived... something we hope won't be said (or maybe we will) of Ray Emery's career with the Philadelphia Flyers.  The Flyers' nation has been pretty much split down the middle on this "potential" signing (the Flyers can't actually do anything till July 1).  So, what do you think?  ***UPDATE*** Emery will be wearing number 29, and received his jersey from Jeff Carter.
