MIAMIThe Phillies are playing Sundays game against the Florida Marlins under protest.
The protest was filed in the sixth inning after Hunter Pence was ruled out on a fan-interference call. Pence hit a ball to the top of the right-field wall and a fan reached over and possibly prevented Bryan Petersen from catching the ball.
Umpires, led by crew chief Joe West, reviewed the play on instant replay. Replays are usually used for disputed home run calls or fairfoul calls. After seeing the replay, West called Pence out.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel argued the call and was ejected. After a 12-minute delay, the Phillies notified the official scorer that they were playing under protest.
