Welp. Apparently the MRI results today were not great for Philadelphia Phillies slugger Ryan Howard.
The Big Piece has a meniscus tear that will require surgery and he'll need 6-8 weeks to recover from it, according to GM Ruben Amaro Jr. who spoke with reporters before tonight's game against the Nationals. That would be around the late August to early September time frame.
A long Phillies season gets hit with another major bump in the road.

Surgery & 6-8 weeks out mostly ends Howard's season. Even if he is physically able in Sept., he always needs a couple months to shake rust.
