The Eagles are in talks with veteran safety O.J. Atogwe, according to a league source, but a deal is not yet in place despite a report that the Birds had reached an agreement with the 30-year-old free agent.
Earlier on Tuesday, Arash Madani of Sportsnet Canada reported that the two sides had reached a deal. Not long after, Chris Russel of ESPNRadio980 tweeted that Atogwe had confirmed the signing via a text message, reportedly saying, "It is true."
Atogwe spent six seasons with the St. Louis Rams before signing a five-year, 26 million deal with the Washington Redskins last off-season.

The Redskins released Atogwe on March 12 because of salary cap reasons. He started eight games for the 'Skins in 2011 and compiled 60 tackles and three interceptions.
