U-S-A Chants at Citizens Bank Park as Phillies Fans Hear of Osama bin Laden's Death

With news spreading that Osama bin Laden has been killed, small U-S-A chants began to rise from the crowd watching the Phillies play the Mets at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday night. As the word spread throughout the crowd, the chants got louder and louder until just about the whole stadium was doing it, audible on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. I don't know how many Mets fans are in town tonight, but this is likely one occasion for which everyone in attendance will put aside the rivalry, reminiscent of the Phillies-Braves game at the Vet after 9/11 and the Flyers-Rangers preseason game that was halted for President Bush's address.
