How's this for some irony?
Former Eagles and 49ers head coach Chip Kelly auditioned for an analyst job at FOX Sports, per Yahoo!'s Charles Robinson.
The report comes as a bit of a surprise, considering Kelly's relationship with the media hasn't always been the best. Here's just one example from the coach's time in Philadelphia when he was asked about baiting opponents with certain play calls.
Those play calls and the ensuing results (or lack thereof) are a major reason Kelly is currently out of work. Let's take a look at his four seasons as an NFL head coach.
With Eagles in 2013: 10-6, wild-card playoff berth
With Eagles in 2014: 10-6, missed playoffs
NFL
With Eagles in 2015: 6-9, fired before final regular-season game
With 49ers in 2016: 2-14, fired after regular season
With a 28-35 record in four years and a system that mostly hasn't worked in the NFL, it will be interesting to see how Kelly assimilates as an analyst. And if he can stick in that role, as well.
