Fake news!
It wasn't Donald Trump saying this statement on Friday.
No, it was New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul about the New York media.
Pierre-Paul felt the media jumped the gun on Friday morning when NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted out that Paul agreed to a "huge" four-year deal with the Giants.
Other reports agreed with Rapoport, confirming the four-year deal with the Giants.
Pierre-Paul then tweeted about the news.
Apparently, he didn't think it was accurate …
And then …
To be fair, Rapoport tweeted out he agreed to the deal and did not say he signed a deal. Two different phrases.
This is not the first time the media has given Pierre-Paul trouble. Turn back the clock to July 8, 2015, when ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted out JPP's' medical records after the defensive end nearly blew his right hand off in a fireworks accident that summer.
Pierre-Paul took Schefter and ESPN to court in February of 2016, suing for a violation of his privacy and that Schefter improperly obtained his medical records from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. The lawsuit was settled this year on Feb. 3 and the terms of the settlement remain confidential.
Pierre-Paul cleared the air later on Friday and said the deal is now official. Time to make up your mind, JPP.
