When the Eagles return to the practice field after their mini bye week, exciting young tight end Tyree Jackson will be with them.
The Eagles on Wednesday morning activated the 21-day practice windows for Jackson and safety K’Von Wallace, the first steps toward both players returning to game action this season.
Jackson, 23, has been on IR since the beginning of the season with a back fracture suffered during training camp. He hasn’t played at all this season.

Wallace, 24, has been on IR since he separated his shoulder in Week 3 against the Cowboys. He has missed the last three games.
In addition to those two moves, the Eagles also brought back tight end Richard Rodgers to the practice squad. They released Casey Tucker from the practice squad to make room.
By starting their 21-day clocks, Jackson and Wallace will return to practice and the Eagles will have 21 days to add them to the active roster or shut them down for the season.
Earlier this season, the Eagles began the 21-day windows for Jack Driscoll and Josiah Scott on the same day and both were activated to the active roster that same week.

Jackson was the talk of training camp this summer for obvious reasons. He’s a physical freak at 6-foot-7 and although he’s early in his conversion from quarterback to tight end, looked every bit the part. The former University at Buffalo quarterback just began to convert to a tight end in November, so he’s come a long way. And in training camp, he seemed to make plays every day.
Heck, when the Eagles traded away Zach Ertz late last week, general manager Howie Roseman brought up Jackson on his own a couple times.
“We want to make sure that we're going into next year knowing as much as we could,” Roseman said. “If he's going to look like he did during training camp, like, that's going to be a player for us. But he's got to show it in games. And this is an opportunity for him to come back and for us to see that. We don't think that's just a shot in the dark. We think this guy's got some traits.”
Wallace was a fourth-round pick last season and had a role with the Eagles’ defense early in the season. He started in place of Rodney McLeod in Weeks 2 and 3. But now McLeod is back and is a starter alongside Anthony Harris.
But perhaps Wallace will start to take some snaps away from Marcus Epps and Jonathan Gannon will find a role for the second-year safety.
