Eagles second-round pick Landon Dickerson is officially active for his first NFL game on Sunday against the 49ers.
Dickerson, 22, didn’t play in the opener as he comes back from a torn ACL in the SEC Championship Game.
The Eagles took a gamble by picking Dickerson with the 37th pick in the draft but if he pans out, they’ll look like geniuses. Dickerson has a lengthy injury history but was a first-round talent.

Don’t expect Dickerson to crack the starting lineup. The Eagles are set with Jordan Mailata, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks and Lane Johnson. But it probably is safe to assume Dickerson is the top backup inside and there might be another role for him, although head coach Nick Sirianni was not in a hurry to give that away on Friday.
“We'll hold that close to us, just for right now,” Sirianni said.
Meanwhile, safety Marcus Epps is also active against the 49ers in the home opener after suffering a concussion in the season opener last week. Epps, 25, came into the weekend listed as questionable but cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and is ready to play on Sunday afternoon.
Last week, Epps started the opener in place of Rodney McLeod (knee), who is out again for Week 2. Epps and second-year safety K’Von Wallace will likely split time at the safety spot opposite Anthony Harris.

The top three inactive players were also inactive in Week 1. Tuipulotu is a late-round rookie who played minimally in the opener.
Linebacker Davion Taylor is making his season debut on Sunday. Taylor got some first-team reps early in training camp but then suffered a calf injury that kept him out for a while. He went into last weekend listed as questionable and didn’t play.
Without Toth, the Eagles' backup swing tackle is likely former first-round pick Andre Dillard, who lost the starting left tackle battle to Mailata this summer.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are banged up at the cornerback position and are expected to start recently signed Josh Norman, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.
