Share

In Chris Steuber's first mock draft of the offseason, he had the Eagles addressing their secondary with the 20th pick. This time around, he has the Birds eying a wide receiver.

* denotes juniors
** denotes redshirt sophomores

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - *Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
The off-the-field issues are too much of a concern to take Jameis Winston with this selection, so the Bucs are happy to go with Mariota, who is the safe pick and the right choice to be the face of the franchise. It may take him time to adapt to a new system, but he has all of the tools needed to be an outstanding quarterback at the next level.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

2. Tennessee Titans – *Leonard Williams, DT, Southern Cal
The Titans will be tempted to select Winston here or entertain a trade, but instead of investing in risky business they decide to select the draft’s most dominant defensive prospect in Williams.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Leonard Williams, DT, Southern Cal

3. Jacksonville Jaguars - *Dante Fowler, Jr., OLB, Florida
Fowler is an impactful and versatile defender who has the ability to play with his head down or standing up. He provides the Jaguars with the pass rush threat that they need off the edge.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Dante Fowler, Jr., OLB, Florida

4. Oakland Raiders - *Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
Providing Derek Carr with an explosive threat on the perimeter is vital, and the Raiders have a tough choice between Kevin White and Cooper. While White’s stock has increased after his performance at the scouting combine, Cooper is the more complete receiver.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama

5. Washington Redskins - **Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
Now this pick would blow the roof off of the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. It’s no secret that RG3 is close to wearing out his welcome in DC, and the selection of Winston would make it easy to move on from him. The Redskins don’t mind rolling high stakes dice, but they hope this gamble pays off.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska

6. New York Jets - Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson
With Mariota and Winston off the board, the Jets can focus on the defensive side of the ball as they usually do in the first round. Beasley is an explosive athlete who possesses the natural gifts and full repertoire of moves to be a standout sack artist in the NFL.

Mock 1.0 pick: **Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State

7. Chicago Bears – Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
Adding an impactful pass rusher is a big need for the Bears, but pairing White with Alshon Jeffery would fill a major hole left by the departed Brandon Marshall. White can do it all and has an incredibly high ceiling.

Mock 1.0 pick: Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson

8. Atlanta Falcons – *Shane Ray, DE, Missouri
The Falcons need a force off the edge, and even though Randy Gregory is available, the safe choice is Ray, who is an excellent scheme fit with new head coach Dan Quinn.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Shane Ray, DE, Missouri

9. New York Giants – Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa
The Giants could use help in the trenches, specifically on the offensive line. Scherff is the top lineman in the draft and brings the versatility and physicality wanted upfront.

Mock 1.0 pick: Kevin White, WR, West Virginia

10. St. Louis Rams – *Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State
The cornerback position isn’t the Rams' most pressing need, but they will have some decisions to make following the 2015 season with Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson scheduled to be free agents. Waynes’ skill set is an ideal fit on defense and his presence makes future decisions in the secondary easier.

Mock 1.0 pick: Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa

11. Minnesota Vikings – DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
Reuniting Teddy Bridgewater with his former college teammate, Parker, would give the Vikings the boost they need in the passing game.

Mock 1.0 pick: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville

12. Cleveland Browns – Danny Shelton, NT, Washington
Shelton is a massive, relentless defender who can control the interior play and also possesses surprising athleticism for his size. He would be a great fit with the Browns.

Mock 1.0 pick: Danny Shelton, NT, Washington

13. New Orleans Saints – *Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska
After testing positive for marijuana at the scouting combine, teams are concerned about Gregory off-the-field, which is why he’s available at this point in the draft. If he stays clean and focuses on football, the sky is the limit.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State

14. Miami Dolphins – Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
With Mike Wallace traded to the Vikings last month, the Dolphins must get bigger and more physical on the perimeter. Strong has deceptive speed and can be a matchup nightmare with his frame and playmaking ability.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Malcom Brown, DT, Texas

15. San Francisco 49ers – La’el Collins, OT, LSU
The 49ers should focus their attention on the offensive line. They lack depth and need an upgrade in talent. Collins is a versatile, dominant force who can play tackle or guard.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford

16. Houston Texans – *Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
There are a number of areas that the Texans could address, but enhancing the secondary should be a priority. Collins is an intriguing defender who has great size, length and an impressive skill set.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Jalen Collins, CB, LSU

17. San Diego Chargers – Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
With the departure of Ryan Mathews, the Chargers need to bolster their rushing attack. Gordon has superstar qualities and the ability to make an immediate impact.

Mock 1.0 pick: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin

18. Kansas City Chiefs – Landon Collins, SS, Alabama
The uncertainty surrounding the future of Eric Berry puts the Chiefs in a position to address the safety position and landing Collins at this point in the draft is a steal.

Mock 1.0 pick: Landon Collins, SS, Alabama

19. Cleveland Browns (from Bills) – *Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
There will be some attractive options at the wide receiver position available in the second round, which allows the Browns to strengthen their offensive line with Peat. He has the potential to be a dominant tackle in the NFL.

Mock 1.0 pick: T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh

20. Philadelphia Eagles – *Breshad Perriman, WR, Central Florida
The early run on wide receivers will cause the Eagles to take a hard look at who’s available on the board. Perriman (6-2, 212) is the choice, as his stock is on a meteoric rise. His size, speed and game-breaking ability translate well to what Chip Kelly desires in his offense.

Mock 1.0 pick: Quinten Rollins, DB, Miami (OH)

21. Cincinnati Bengals – Cameron Erving, OL, Florida State
The addition of a versatile offensive lineman who can play all five positions on the line would help the Bengals' depth issues. Erving translates best to tackle, but he has the ability to perform at a high level wherever he’s needed.

Mock 1.0 pick: Cameron Erving, OL, Florida State

22. Pittsburgh Steelers – Bud Dupree, OLB, Kentucky
Dupree is a hardworking defender who can be a game-changer with his impressive first step and pass rushing ability. He’s an ideal fit with the Steelers.

Mock 1.0 pick: Bud Dupree, OLB, Kentucky

23. Detroit Lions – *Malcom Brown, DT, Texas
With Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley signing in Miami and St. Louis respectively, the Lions acted quickly and traded for Haloti Ngata this offseason. The Lions complete the defensive tackle puzzle with Brown, who will complement Ngata well and provide strong play in the trenches.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State

24. Arizona Cardinals – *Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
The Cardinals could address a defensive need with this pick, but the upside of Gurley's presence in their backfield is too much to pass up. He’s still recovering from ACL surgery, but when healthy, he has the talent to be a top five to seven running back in the league.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Shaq Thompson, OLB, S, Washington

25. Carolina Panthers – T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
It’s crucial for the Panthers to continue to build around Cam Newton, whether it’s supplying him with weapons or protecting him. The selection of Clemmings will help upfront, as he can line up at either right or left tackle.

Mock 1.0 pick: La’el Collins, OT, LSU

26. Baltimore Ravens – *Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
Ozzie Newsome does it again. He fills a huge need with a potential star player. Green-Beckham is an incredible talent who is as gifted as any receiver available in the draft. The only reason he’s available this late is because of character concerns. If his troubles are behind him, Green-Beckham will be the steal of the first round.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia

27. Dallas Cowboys – *Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State
The Cowboys signed Darren McFadden after losing DeMarco Murray during free agency, but they need to acquire a young, reliable runner they can build around. Ajayi is the complete package and is the workhorse the Cowboys are missing.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma

28. Denver Broncos – D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida
It’s important for the Broncos to continue to keep Peyton Manning protected and out of harms way. Humphries can help that cause, as he has the athleticism to play left tackle and hard-nosed demeanor to line up on the right side.

Mock 1.0 pick: **Jordan Phillips, DT, Oklahoma

29. Indianapolis Colts – *Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
The Colts will likely go for a defensive prospect with this selection and adding more size at nose tackle is crucial. Goldman is a dominant run defender and has shown potential as a pass rusher. He has all of the tools to be a force.

Mock 1.0 pick: *P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State

30. Green Bay Packers – Quinten Rollins, DB, Miami (OH)
The Packers lost Tramon Williams and Davon House during free agency and could use a versatile defensive back that has the ability to play multiple positions. Rollins translates best to free safety at the next level, but he also has the skill set to line up on the perimeter or in the slot.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Eli Harold, OLB, Virginia

31. New Orleans Saints (from Seahawks) – *Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami
Earlier in the first round, the Saints improved their pass rush with the addition of Gregory, and now they give Drew Brees more protection upfront with the selection of Flowers.

Mock 1.0 pick: Seahawks: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State

32. New England Patriots – *Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
The Patriots should select the highest rated corner on their board after losing Darrelle Revis this offseason. Even though Peters was dismissed from Washington’s team and has questionable character, he’s a tremendously gifted prospect who has the potential to be a shutdown corner.

Mock 1.0 pick: *Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
