Eric Semborski gets incredible mask as gift from Blackhawks

The Eric Semborski story will never get old.

In December, when the Blackhawks asked him to be their emergency backup goalie against the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center, it was an unexpected dream come true for the local 23-year-old.

Afterward, the Blackhawks gave Semborski some pucks, a hat and they sent him a jersey. It got even better when Chicago flew him out for a home game about a week later and Semborski received a hero’s welcome.

But the Blackhawks didn’t stop there. They wanted to give him a special gift and asked David Gunnarsson, a professional artist for NHL goalies, to help.

And he certainly delivered, making Semborski this incredible mask.

Incredibly done, Blackhawks and David Gunnarsson.
