Flyers release preseason schedule, when you should get first glimpse of Ellis

Ryan Ellis talks about the shock of being traded to the Flyers and what fans should expect from him this season.

Last season, the Flyers' entire training camp consisted of six on-ice days (which included an intrasquad matchup) and no preseason games.

This season, the Flyers will have six preseason games to go along with a full camp starting in September.

The club on Tuesday announced its exhibition slate, which features three home games at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers' busy offseason is far from finished, but we do know one new Flyer to watch: Ryan Ellis.

Players almost never play in every preseason game, but it's safe to say the Flyers will want Ellis dressing for the preseason opener at home. So fans should get their first glimpse of the club's new top-pair defenseman on Sept. 28.

Here's the Flyers' 2021-22 preseason schedule:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 28 — vs. Islanders (7 p.m. ET)
  • Thursday, Sept. 30 — at Bruins (7:30 p.m. ET)
  • Saturday, Oct. 2 — vs. Capitals (7 p.m. ET)
  • Monday, Oct. 4 — vs. Bruins (7 p.m. ET)
  • Tuesday, Oct. 5 — at Islanders (7 p.m. ET)
  • Friday, Oct. 8 — at Capitals (7 p.m. ET)
