The Flyers have placed center Sean Couturier on injured reserve, according to Bill Meltzer of HockeyBuzz.com.
General manager Ron Hextall, who last updated Couturier's status on Wednesday, has yet to officially announce the move.
On the Flyers' official website, there is a double-asterisk mark next to Couturier's name on the club's roster, which denotes a player is, in fact, on IR.
Couturier had previously been listed as day to day with a lower-body injury. He was injured in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Jan. 19 and has missed the last three games.
The 23-year-old also sat out six games from Oct. 24 through Nov. 3 after sustaining a concussion on a high hit from Boston's Zac Rinaldo on Oct. 21.
The Flyers are 2-6-1 this season in the nine games Couturier has missed. They are 19-11-4 when he's been available.
As Meltzer pointed out, this designation can be applied retroactively to Couturier's last game played. That means the minimum of seven days that he would have to spend on IR have already elapsed and he can be activated at any time.

With Couturier on the IR list, the Flyers are free to add another player to the active roster if they choose to do so.
Couturier has nine goals and 13 assists to go along with a plus-8 rating in 38 appearances this season. Prior to his injury, he piled up 14 points in his last 14 games.
The Flyers return from the All-Star break on Tuesday for a home matchup with the Montreal Canadiens at the Wells Fargo Center.
